About

How we review Canadian casino sites.

Four checks, run in a fixed order, and a brand that fails the first one never reaches a page regardless of what it pays us. This is the whole method, including the parts that are judgement rather than measurement and the places where we do not have an answer.

Check one: the register, before anything else

Canada regulates gambling provincially, so the first question is never "is this a good casino" but "is this site registered where the reader is". Two provinces license private operators — Ontario and Alberta — and we match every brand against those two registers by name before it enters the data file at all.

This is the check most comparison pages skip, and skipping it is what produces a national "best of" list that is wrong in most of the country. Registration status is stored per brand per market, not once per brand, which is why 10 brands render for Ontario and 2 for Alberta off the same file.

Check two: the province match

A licence is not national and neither is a ranking. Every table on this site is filtered by the province being rendered, and in the nine provinces and territories with no private register we publish no ranking at all rather than relabelling someone else's list. If you switch provinces in the rail at the top of the page, the table changes with it — including to nothing.

Check three: the payout window, measured per rail

Withdrawal speed is the number players actually care about and the number most often quoted from a press release. We hold it per payment rail, because the same site behaves differently depending on how you are paid: our current reference windows run from 24–48 h on interac e-transfer to 3–7 days on echeck. Independent timing of every rail at every brand is an open item, not a completed one, and this page will not pretend otherwise.

Minimum deposit is recorded in Canadian dollars for the same reason — a figure converted from euros in a press kit is not the figure you will see at the cashier.

Check four: their terms, not our summary

We link the operator's own terms and licence page directly rather than paraphrasing them into something friendlier. Paraphrase is where players get caught: a summary that reads "verification required" does not tell you that the name on your payment method has to match the name on the account, and that is the detail that stops a withdrawal.

What we do not do

We do not publish promotional offers, in any province. AGCO’s marketing standards prohibits advertising inducements to players in Ontario and Alberta took the same line when its market opened, so rather than serving one version of a page to one province and another elsewhere we removed that layer from the whole site. It costs traffic. It also means every ranking factor on this site is one we can show you.

We do not run a scored rating of games, graphics or "atmosphere". We do not accept payment for placement, position or an eligibility chip. And we do not carry a legal age, a helpline or a regulator name that is not in our province data file — every one of those values on every page is rendered from a single record with a source attached.

How we are paid

When you open an account through a link on this site, the operator pays us a commission. The commission does not vary with position in a table, and the order of every table follows the review score. Where we hold no commercial relationship with a registered brand we say so on the page rather than omitting it — the Alberta page names the live-list sites we cannot yet cover, by name.

Coverage, as it stands

  • 12 brands with an operator record.
  • 10 render for Ontario, 2 for Alberta.
  • 2 registered but held back for want of a logo asset, not for eligibility.
  • 82 sites on the Ontario register as of July 22, 2026 — the gap is our coverage, not the market.

Questions about how we review

Does a brand pay to appear on this site?

A brand cannot pay to appear, to move up, or to have a chip added. We earn a commission when a reader opens an account through one of our links, and that is the same commission whether the brand sits first or last. The order follows our review score, which is built from the checks below.

Why do you list fewer brands than the register holds?

Because the register is a list of names and a review needs a record. We publish a brand once we hold its registration status per province, its payout behaviour per payment rail and a logo asset. We currently hold records for 12 brands, which is a fraction of the 82 sites registered in Ontario alone.

What would make you remove a brand?

Losing its registration in the province being rendered removes it from that province automatically, because eligibility is read from a data file rather than typed into a page. A pattern of unexplained withdrawal delays, a change of terms that contradicts what we recorded, or a support channel that stops answering are the editorial reasons.
