How we check
Four checks, in this order.
Every Canadian casino site on this page has cleared all four. If a brand fails the first one it never reaches the list, regardless of how well it pays us.
Register first
We match the brand against the AGCO / iGaming Ontario register and the AGLC register before anything else. A site that is not on the register for a province cannot appear on that province's list — this is the check most comparison sites skip.
Province match
A licence is not national. We hold a separate record per province, so the list you see is filtered to what is actually permitted where you are — including the two regulated markets and the provinces where a Crown site competes with international operators.
Real payout window
We record withdrawal times per payment rail — Interac e-Transfer behaves differently from a card or an eCheck — and we log the minimum deposit in Canadian dollars, in Canadian dollars as the cashier shows it.

Two regulated markets, and a different rulebook in every province.
Ontario and Alberta licence private operators directly. Everywhere else, a Crown corporation runs the provincial site and international operators serve the rest of the market. The legal age is not the same everywhere either.

Questions
The ones worth asking.
Is playing at an online casino legal in Canada?
Yes, with the detail that matters being where. In Ontario and Alberta private operators are licensed and regulated directly — Ontario since April 4, 2022, Alberta since July 13, 2026. In every other province the Crown corporation runs the provincial site, and international operators serve players without a provincial licence. Nothing in the Criminal Code makes it an offence for you as a player to place the bet.
What is the legal gambling age where I live?
Nineteen in most of the country, and eighteen in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. In Ontario the 19+ threshold applies to casino and sports betting, while lottery and charitable gaming start at 18. Pick your province in the rail at the top of this page and it will show the age that applies to you.
Which provinces have a regulated private market?
Two, as of August 2026. Ontario, through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and iGaming Ontario, currently lists 48 registered operators running 82 sites. Alberta opened its market on July 13, 2026, regulated by AGLC with the Alberta iGaming Corporation handling commercial onboarding.
Are casino winnings taxable in Canada?
Not for recreational players — a win is not treated as income. The treatment differs if gambling is your business rather than your pastime, and any interest your winnings then earn is taxable in the normal way. If you are anywhere near that line, ask an accountant rather than a casino site.
Why don't you advertise operator promotions?
Because in half of Canada it is not allowed. Under AGCO’s marketing standards an affiliate may not advertise incentives to players in Ontario, and Alberta's advertising standards took the same line when its market opened. Rather than showing one version of this site to Ontario and another to Nova Scotia, we removed that layer everywhere and rank on things we can actually verify: registration, payout window, payment rails and support.
